We invite you to join Edinburgh 4 Europe on our Edinburgh Centre free #EuroWalk. This walk is part of a series of events happening across the UK, all on the same day as part of #DayForRejoin2024.
On this approximately 90 minute walk through Edinburgh City Centre we will follow a route that includes many landmarks that give an insight into the depth and breadth of Edinburgh's strong European ties.
Our meeting point is 10.30am at the Wojtek statue in Princes Street Gardens and our walk will come to an end outside the Scottish Parliament. Some of the route is level, such as at the start along Princes' Street, however some of it does include steps, cobbles and several hills so may not be accessible for all. Produced by Byline TV, and narrated by European Movement Chair, Dr Mike Galsworthy, this powerful film exposes the reality of Brexit and how we got here.
We are delighted that we will also be joined for this special presentation by the film's Director, Caolan Robertson. After the screening, he will talk about his experiences whilst making the film and answer questions from the audience.
This really is a unique opportunity to see this important film in an iconic venue in the presence of the Director.

We are organising an online meeting where Edmund Sides (our Chairperson) will give a talk about his walk to London five years ago to join the People's Vote March which was held on 23rd March 2019.
Edmund will give a presentation to illustrate some of the highlights of his walk, including images of some of the natural and historic sights seen along the way; encounters with different pro-European groups and comments on history, archaeology, geology (Edmund is a geologist) and other points of interest.
This event will be a Zoom meeting which will start with a 30-40 minute presentation by Edmund Sides, followed by a question and answer session where other people who he met en route may wish to share their memories of the walk.

Swindon for Europe's Dance Europa! troupe will lead a flag rally and perform an outdoor dance display on the Parade outside Community Hub in the busy Swindon Town Centre, then we shall perform our new dance work in progress upstairs in the Hub, after which we shall invite the audience for questions and suggestions about our work.
We're developing an interpretive 'dance theatre' which combines the mythical themes of the ancient Goddess 'Europa' and her rebellious daughter 'Britannia', with recent and topical political developments.
Entry to the indoor dance performance upstairs in the Hub is free, however we will be requesting voluntary donations as there are cost incurred in our production, which is intended to be an ongoing project which we will develop as far as we possibly can!
